Families does not show the families I expected to see in a case. Why is that?

Although the Families software uses all the theme words and expressions either the patient says or that you extract from the case it is designed to look for those terms used by homeopathic teachers and listed in their published works, These tend not to be the more physical, rubric based terms but rather the sensations and themes common to families (as they perceive them)

If I buy Families do I get all the Sankaran Books and Analysis Techniques?

Families allows to input your cases for analysis and provides charts of miasms and families using data from many homeopathic sources including Sankaran.

However to additionally use the Sankaran specific materials including all his latest books you must purchase Families with the additional Sankaran System.

Can I just buy the Sankaran System?

No – you must buy Families with the Sankaran System.

Why do different families get displayed in Sankaran's System than the main Families?

This is because data utilised in Families that is based on the publications of other homeopaths is removed when you use the Sankaran System within Families.

Can I have a trial?

Yes - you can download Families for a 14 day trial. The trial starts from the day you install Families . You cannot extend the trial and you can only have 1 trial per computer.

Can I see which remedies are in a family?

Yes – in any chart click the left mouse button on any family graphic,

I have my cases typed in Word already – what can I do?

No problem. Families can open and save Word documents

What are those strange entries down the right side of the screen?

This is ‘insertion text’ and is designed to help when typing up cases. The list contains a set of commonly used terms. You can click any term with your mouse and that term will be inserted into the case wherever the text cursor is positioned. Alternatively you can press a keyboard combination to insert the text if you are a touch typist. Simply use the Alt or Ctrl or Shift keys + a number to insert the desired term.

Can I copy or print the Sankaran books?

No. All the books supplied are protected against copying, printing or saving.

Can I search the Sankaran books?

You can search Insights and Sensations but not Miasms or Schema.

Can I use Families on more than one computer?

Only if you purchase additional copies. The cost of purchase is for 1 copy running on 1 computer

Can Families run over a network?

No

Can Families run on Macs?

Not unless you are running Windows on your Mac. Families will not run under the MacOS but will run under Bootcamp or Parallels Workstation.

What are NoiseWords?

These are words such as ‘we’, ‘I’, ‘it’ ‘of’ ‘the’ ‘but’ and so on. If you analyse with Noise Words Off then Families will exclude these words from its analysis.

Why? Only to speed up the analysis process by excluding words that have little or no relevance to the family analysis. If you’re happy with the speed of analysis leave Noise Words On.

You can even edit the list of Families noise words to fine tune the system. Click Edit, NoiseWords

Why Use Synonyms?

Families contains a database of synonyms. If you analyse with Synonyms on then Families will examine not only every word in the case but also every word’s synonyms!

It may be a good idea to have Synonyms set 'on' so that Families uses all possible alternative words to find the closest remedy families to the case.

However we suggest you try both approaches and find the method thast best suits your cases.

What are these colours in the Other chart?

These are remedy families related to the colour remedies e.g remedies related to Red, Pink, Violet and so on. Derived from the pioneering work of Ambika Wauters the colour remedies themselves are related to other homoepathic remedies and families are thus formed.
